Erik is not good at sitting still.

Forced to recuperate after the disastrous end to his and Bridget’s winter vacation, the normally active Viking is bored, restless, and driving Bridget just a little bit loca.

Then he discovers Heritage House.

What begins as a way to escape his enforced downtime soon becomes something much more. Erik finds himself drawn into the lives—and gossip—of the assisted living facility’s residents, especially Betty and Ralph, two unlikely friends who begin to fill a place in his life that had been empty since he lost his parents as a boy.

But Heritage House has a problem.

Someone is setting fires.

The fire marshal blames faulty wiring. But when the fires become more frequent, Bridget and Erik start asking questions.

As the danger grows and someone Erik cares about is caught in the flames, the investigation becomes painfully personal. One thing Bridget and Erik have learned from their previous brushes with murder:

There’s no such thing as a coincidence.

Third Strike, Book Three in the Hearts and Homicides series, brings Bridget and Erik home to Mayfair for their most personal mystery yet—where friendship can become family, danger is closer than it appears, and somebody is playing with fire.
